To celebrate their imminent North American tour (which starts in Washington next week) TMR faves Drahla have shared a gauzy rendition of Psychic TV's 'Godstar'. Originally released as an ode to Rolling Stones founder Brian Jones back in 1985, it's arguably one of Psychic TV's most accessible cuts. Bringing a shoegazier atmosphere than the original, Drahla's reverb-drenched bass and chorussy guitar stabs permeate the track, whilst vocal Luciel Brown, nails the child-like vocal delivery of Genesis P-Orridge. Lifted by a simplistic (piano/synth?) line and additional atmospheric guitar drones in the chorus, it's one of the best covers we've heard in a long time. Read our TMR Talks To... feature with Drahla here now. -Holly Mullineaux
